Early awakening!

Four friends sitting at a pub with beer mugs. What conversation do you expect?
"Spiritual awakening under the influence of Spirit"I say!

Let's call them F1, F2, F3 and F4. Two pegs down and the conversation begins.

F1 : "Yaar enough of this life. Same work day in and day out".
F2: "True Dost, this work is killing me personally and professionally".
F3 with a sad face: "Me and my wife hardly talk."
F4 with a determined face: "Why do we run behind money? I think we should leave all this and start living our lives."

All of them agree and toast "Cheers! to a new life". It's a cue to the bartender to fill the mugs.

Then our friends start the real conversation. Their plans vary from starting their own venture to travelling. Trip plans spanning from the Himalayas for a peaceful life to Haridwar for freeing oneself of sins. From Leh Ladakh to Mount Abu to Kanyakumari. 
They discussed their everyday routine which was about to change. Morning Meditation and yoga and laughter club. Zen life and Taichi were touched upon and a number of books they had to read to get wisdom.
Suddenly family was the most important thing. Parents, wife and kids were the best thing to happen.
Good Gurujis and Gods were thanked.

As it neared mid night, all of them headed back to their cars. They parted with hugs , tears and promise to catch up regularly and committed to live their lives.....

The bartender was a witness to all this. He smiles and heads back to the counter waiting for the next set of friends with similar set of conversation. He also knows what would happen next day.


What?? You want me complete the story??
don't tell me you didn't see yourself in one of the four friends and the next day, you were back at office in front of your favorite companion ...Laptop!

Power cut 'Memories'

I remember my childhood when in summers there was a specific time and duration for what we call 'power cut' in late evening. And that was time we all used to wait for. Our parents made sure we completed our homework by then, all their house hold work completed. When the moment came, lights went off everywhere. And an uproar of 'light gayiiiiii' was heard across. All the kids were out on the street. The only lights were candles at home, oil lit lamps at temples, moon and star shine. Hide and seek was best played like this. All the ladies used to gather and gossip, men used to discuss politics or office. Balconies and streets were filled with people. Everyone knew everyone. Book Review- The Sialkot Saga by Ashwin Sanghi

When one of the best authors churns out his thoughts where fiction is mixed with history and also has a philosophical angle, we get a book which is an absolute page Turner! Again I will go by the attributes my review would be based on: Language: Impeccable is the word. Story and Pace: It's like a watching a movie where you can't wait for the suspense to unfold. You feel what the characters feel. Emotions, courage, power everything is demonstrated beautifully. There was one point I was questioning the need for exploring Hastinapur angle, but in the end I did get my answer. Pace of the story rarely slows down. One gets to witness various events, starting from India's Independence to the Mumbai attack. Political angle given to characters gives an opportunity to the readers to have a glimpse of India's political change, right from Indira Gandhi's time to Modi's.
